Not the absence of desire but lack of opportunities has disabled many people to earn a decent living to live a dignified life. ATHROUT aims at not just assisting the families in need, but also empowering them and providing them with opportunities to earn a decent livelihood. The initiative of Empowerment has been carried out in various ways. By the grace of Almighty and with the help of our generous donors we have been able to empower over 400 families and help them run a small business to earn a livelihood.
Apart from this, ATHROUT has helped several men and women in establishing small businesses which include providing wooden carts, setting up of small shops, allotting sewing machines, sponsoring skill training etc. The material for sale is also provided along with the cart or the shop. Another innovative assistance was provided by ATHROUT in the form of Bike Cafes, which is successfully operating in Srinagar.

In 2014 floods, I saw there exemplary social work first hand. where ever I went along with few friends of mine, Athrout volunteers were already lending a helping hand. I don’t know them personally at all, bt I am sure they are doing a wonderful work. let’s all strengthen their hands by contributing.
The organization is doing a tremendous job in normal days and more importantly during the crisis times.
